BIBLICAL STUDIES about FREEDOM
1- The true freedom :
" The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour ... ". ( Isaiah 61 : 1 - 2a )
At the beach, a boy walks alone following the sea side. He wears a tee-shirt on which is written : " LIBERTY ". The wind blows and moves off his hairs. This is a free boy. But is it true ? Why to write again " LIBERTY " on his tee-shirt or on the walls ? Many people look for freedom because of social & family embarrassments. But man is always prisoner of himself even if he is in a no man's island because of his bad think, because of his sinful nature. Man claims freedom but he forgets that many slaveries depend not on other people but on him. Habits for example can take off his liberty. So the true freedom depends on us. It's inside of us not outside. It doesn't depend on external embarrassments but on our desires and our tendencies.

2- Let's again talk about freedom :
" I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven ". ( Jesus Christ - Matthew 18 : 3 )
The human being thinks that he's FREE. At the beginning, man has got from God all things which make him happy. But man has losen this happiness. And he says that the responsible is his neighbors, or the society, or the daily problems, or ... God. He doesn't think that he has his own responsibility for his sorrows. Man thinks that he is FREE but he is a prisoner of his passions.
Man looks for good in the pleasure while he has to search his pleasure in good. Man thinks that God is not a friend but an enemy. So his point of view becomes false and it breaks down his desire. The solution is our conversion. We must accept that our morality is wrong and that we need God to change it. We must accept that we can't change ourselves our nature so we need Jesus for our regeneration. So the lost child will find again his family, the guilty will go back to his Saviour, the desperate man will need help from his Creator. Conversion breaks down man's pride but it opens the right way to God.
